Why you should play the drums
Drums are an extremely lively and dynamic instrument. For that reason, it can be so great for young children to play as a fun outlet to release energy while making cool sounds. Kids drum lessons offer something productive for children to do. Learn the drum doesn't require many skills beyond the motor skills we already have. Playing drums is extremely exciting and rewarding.
Drum lessons for kids and adults!
Drums are not just great for children. Adults can also play drums to relieve stress while producing awesome music. Drums are the ultimate musical stress ball for a busy and fast-paced life, and as drums are an integral part of any rock band, they can lead to a great social scene! At Caringbah Music, our youngest drummer is 5 years old while our eldest is 73 – proving that anyone can learn the drums!
Drum lessons are great for coordination
Learning the drums allows you to use both hands and feet to play different rhythms in unison. That means, learning the drums will teach you how to be exceptionally coordinated and in control of your body movements. Playing the drums also helps develop rhythm and brings you in synch with the music like few instruments can. The drums are also a key instrument for every Rock and Pop band, Jazz or Blues ensemble out there, so you’ll always have a part to play.

About our drum lessons
Our drum teachers are music graduates from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and UNSW. They are fully trained and qualified. Their knowledge of music is vast and they love to pass on their knowledge and passion to our students.
What to expect from our music lessons
In their lessons, they use fun and creative activities to engage their students and ensure they are enjoying their musical journey. They listen to the needs of their students and cater to their interests whether that be a song they want to learn how to play or a specific style.
In lessons, students will learn to:
● Play fun and familiar songs, and expand their musical repertoire
● Master fundamental and advanced drum techniques
● Play expressively
● Develop skills in reading music, rhythmic accuracy, music theory and aural skills
Not only do we offer weekly private drum lessons, but students can also join our rock band program to experience what it’s like to play in a real band and to learn the importance of teamwork and cooperation.
